I think that these designs I did look really good, and I am so excited to see the new movie Thursday! More turtles! A splash of color really helped these two feel true to their character. These bright colors next to the extreme contrast of the black and white is fun to look at.

Really fun Snow White drawing, still playing around with using pupils or not. When the camera is zoomed in this close I think it makes the most sense, but I am not sure if I think it adds to the picture or not. I love the contrast here. Check out how this compares to my old Snow White picture here:
My markers bled through onto my clipboard for this one. Whoops. X-Men was so good. Might even be better than Civil War. I think these X-Men could take the Avengers.
David Petersen has one of the best blogs available for the budding comic book artist. My article this week for the Computer Paper Project dives deeper into three of my favorite posts. I am a little bit ahead of schedule, so I decided to post the article early! Have a good long weekend everyone!
I am starting a Throwback Thursday series! Here is an old Professor X, I'm going to see Apocalypse tonight at 10. Spirits are high. I'm also the new proud owner of all 4 covers for Jim Lee's and Chris Claremont's X-Men #1. I'm probably the only one who didn't have all of these, but I'm really excited to hang them up. Great way to celebrate X-Men day!
Sometimes you need to abandon a sketch and try again. Also, the X-Men hype is real. Scribble until you find something is one of the most sound pieces of advice you will ever hear. This phrase often comes to mind for a daily sketch, and in my experience it has easily become one of my favorite things to do. Thanks for the advice Jake!
Article 8 is now live! In this article, I discuss another 10 lessons that I learned from readings Volumes 4-19 of Bakuman.
I helped some friends move today, so a head sketch was all I had time for. More study into this style that's beginning to develop! We'll see what happens!
I think I am starting to put together some valuable skills. I'm really trying not to get to obsessed with with style, but I do feel myself starting to take a Mignola turn in my work. I will be monitoring this closely and continue to look at how to turn it into my own stuff. This Werewolf Lupin was just a practice of textures and forms, it's lacking a centralized rendering style but I still like it. Progress!
